7-5 & 6th in the ACC with a november collapse. Sounds like a perfect fit for Aggie

Lost his starting qb was the reason for the collapse

Fritz to Duke? Be a helluva lot better job than UH, if he just has to leave Tulane.

Duke already has a good foundation so they wouldn’t have to wait out a 5 year build. I could see them giving Fritz a call

Have no idea why he would not want to retire in a no-pressure situation like Tulane where they will build a statue to him if he keeps having winning seasons

Maybe this is his last chance to elevate his career and get one last big check before retirement… or he could just want to ride it out at Tulane with zero stress. Who knows honestly

Petrino and Robinson are out! DJ Durkin is a better defensive mind then Elko!

Did he? It looks like he just told them he’s going to make a decision. That’s not the same thing.

Elko not handing his defense to a DL coach from the previous regime.

Bobby not staying either

We'll take Durkin. He might be a negligent murderer but at least he's not retarded.

Neither is Robinson. Current rumor is that hes pissed and is leaving for Georgia

BK should be on the phone with Tray Scott now if this plays out.

Y'all can have him, dude hasn't fielded a top 80 defense since 2016 until this year when he finally realized running the 3-5 with a shitty corps of dbs and a stable of DL wasn't a good idea

Talk about recency bias. I sincerely hope Woodward and Kelly look beyond 1 single season when looking at defensive coordinator candidates.

Keeping Petrino would be a mistake. That guy has proven himself to be program poison everywhere he goes, even as an OC.

Scratch that- please keep him

This. I have ZERO interest in Durkin. They got carved up by every good offense they played with much better talent than we had. No thanks.

I don’t particularly like Arnett, but I would take him over a Durkin. There are several I would take over either.

Their QB1 and QB2 both went down to injury. Duke is pretty much never going to have the kind of depth to overcome that.

People will always troll, but Elko is a solid hire. He did a great job in a short time at Duke, all things considered.

If Elko hadn’t coached as a coordinator at atm before what would you say about the hire?

My guess is the same thing most people said about stoops

Not a flashy hire but a solid coach who should do well given the resources and recruiting base.

Very comparable imo. If anything I’d be more comfortable with stoops bc he’s proven he can build a program and a roster as a head coach

I think Elko will do fine but objectively it’s an unknown at this point.

If I were an Aggie, and thank God I’m not, I’d be highly concerned about the fact that so many good old boys had their hands on the hiring process. Letting boosters and players tell you who to hire isn’t a great way of doing business. We’ve seen it here more than once and can promise you it’s not a good sign. Makes me wonder how much power your AD even has there. Perhaps that is part of a more deeply rooted problem there

Yeah DJ sucks ! He just fielded the 8th rank defense in the country . Fire him! Promote Elijah who has no experience as a DC ! Just cause the players like him
