But seriously someone, maybe Lee Chatelain was hinting at it.
My narrative in my brain:
1. Saban says he's interested but LSU needs to snag Lane. He lets Lane and LSU try to work it out.
2. If Lane doesn't come here, then Saban and LSU get real real serious.
3. Would entail bringing in someone for Sabes to groom for 3-4 years before handing him the keys.

That’s pretty much what I was told. I don’t know if it’s true though until it happens.
