I agree the way the calendar is now is horrible and what’s stated above sounds great. And just asking because I’m not sure but does that scenario work out with academic calendar as well, semester starting wise so if kid went in portal he would have time to enroll in his new university?

If his acts are grossly I subordinate and harmful they should just fire him. No need for all the emotional posturing. I'm becoming more impressed with him because he doesn't seem to let emotions govern him.

They just need to drop the "student-athlete" tag at this point. Universities are doing things they wouldn't allow for non-athlete transfer students.

Just to clarify...ESP in August before SR season starts, to get those that want that out of the way. First full week of August long enough? Any outs for schools if a player gets hurt? Or for a player if a Coach leaves?
Roughly when "after spring," and how long for the portal window?
I'm assuming the traditional official early FEB signing "day" still occurs.

Many players (in many sports, not just football) are taking virtual classes these days anyway. Those are not necessarily bound by the same calendar as in person classes. They can be condensed, etc based on the needs of the school and students. The calendar rules related to transfer, eligibility, etc are almost at the end of their connection to the actual reality of student-athletes and how their schedules work. Probably time for the NCAA to take a look at those and figure out how to make them more accurately match the on the ground experience of their students.
