What a disaster if it’s Drinkwitz. I’d probably be ok if LSU could get him at a low salary and buyout. Drinkwitz is going to want Ryan Day money and buyout. That’s insane for him.

Lane isnt coming and it would be Florida if he did leave Ole Piss! My buddies sons play for them .AJ Maddox and Andrew Maddox. His third son plays with Lanes son at Oxford Hs. My buddy Anthony Maddox played fb at Delta state was roommates with Pete Golding and are good friends as well. So take it with a grain of salt bc I dont know shite. But what my buddy tells me is Lsu isnt and never was in the picture. Thats all I got.

Saban is at the Bama basketball game tonight sitting with Alabama AD Greg Byrne. Definitely has the, “I’m interested in being the head coach at LSU” look on his face.

I wouldn't expect there to be. They're tone deaf enough to pretend they didn't actually fire Kelly, of course they think it doesn't matter. And to be fair, it probably doesn't affect anything for Kiffin or Saban specifically, so if they close that out then they're right.
But when they talk about "stars aligning" for other great names like Lanning and Freeman, sorry, I don't believe that LSU's low-rent bullshite is not a factor for guys of that caliber. Kiffin seems like the type to think "not my problem, I simply won't get fired." And I have to think LSU would never do that to Saban if he came back for one last run.
And if they're already turning their nose up at plausible backup options like Sumrall and Drinkwitz... let's just hope they're right about Saban or Kiffin, because they won't get a hard no from Kiffin until January, and they might be up a creek without a paddle.

That's fair, Drink would probably command too high a price for a backup option. I was more thinking about Sumrall when I said that.
Really the point is that if you miss on Kiffin, you're in January with no coach, and the sell becomes much tougher, no matter how good the job is. You're likely to get a lot of on the fence type answers at that point. And that's where shenanigans like those with Kelly's contract have the greatest potential to bite you.
Hopefully it's just Kiffin and we can move on, because he would be an awesome hire that tidies up a lot of this mess.

If we end up in that mess, I'd rather just take a shot on a coordinator or something. Absolutely do not want to be tied up in some massive contract again.
