Agreed. It will be a disaster and they will be on the hook for a ridiculous buy out again if he fails. If he wins a few games, anytime a big name school or NFL team has a vacancy, Kiffin’s name will pop up. He has never won anything meaningful.
LSU will never learn. They shouldn’t hire Drink either. Hire Chesney or Morris and use the saved money on the roster.

This is part of the problem. It’s not just billionaires donating money. And…do you believe just because someone is a billionaire they don’t have a limit? $54,000,000 to go away is a lot of money for anyone to give up…for nothing. The more money the donors waste on coach contracts, the less money is available for players and facility upgrades. There is a limit and the fact you’re not donating keeps you from seeing reality.

When looking at his accomplishments, I agree that he has been overrated. His teams have only finished ranked 4 times in 12 full seasons so far. He has only won 4 bowl games and only won a conference championship coaching in CUSA. His best overall season was when USC was on probation and they finished #6, but couldn't play in a bowl or the Pac-10 title game.
With that said, he has improved as a coach and is managing to win at a pretty consistently high level in the SEC with a team that hasn't won like that. And he was OC of some fantastic Nick Saban Bama teams including an NC-winning team and knows what championship preparation looks like.
One would think that with how he is recruiting and coaching right now, he could get really good results with LSU's resources. One could say we thought the same with BK, but BK wasn't coaching in the SEC already (a huge challenge). As far as his character goes and being a leader of men, both O and Miles won NCs here, so...

Loyalty? Are you talking about to a university and it's fan base or the kids on his team because everyone knows these kids hit the transfer portal so fast if something doesn't go their way or if they want more NIL money. There is no such thing as loyalty in college sports anymore.
