Be careful, he’s very sensitive about the topic. For the record, I don’t think it’s Riley.

I wouldnt say OU is a better job than LSU, bc its not, but they are what and what. I dont see the point in him leaving there.

I don’t think it is either but to pretend LSU is t a better job than OU is just ridiculous. LSU is a better job than any other program out there in terms of winning potential. We have3 national championships in the last 20 years and have highly underachieved during that time. The most fertile recruiting grounds in college football per capita, only major in state program, plenty of money (not the most money, but more than enough to be successful), a huge fan base, and very nice facilities.

The only real thing any other program has over LSU is location. BR isn’t the greatest place to live compared to some places but it ain’t like there aren’t some really nice houses in BR.

Because he will have a better chance to win a title at Lsu than OU, especially when they join the SEC.

Which means basically nothing to an 18 year old kid who wants to play football

The Athletic had a very interesting article today. Anonymous coaches and scouts discussing recruiting. Here is one part:

quote:

Are there any programs whose recruiting has impressed you lately?

Sun Belt coach: Oklahoma is in the middle of nowhere, in my opinion, and they can pull kids from Georgia, all the way to Florida, all the way to California. They can do it all, and that’s very impressive to me. Obviously, they go into Texas and get Theo Wease from Allen, Texas. They go into Georgia and get (Jadon Haselwood), who everyone wanted a few years ago. You have to fly over a lot of schools to get to Norman, Okla. Obviously, Georgia, they’ve done a tremendous job kind of matching and going toe-to-toe with Alabama. But they’re also in a very rich football state in terms of talent.

The pitch to Riley is that even with that outstanding effort, and all their success, they still barely crack top 10 in recruiting classes (average rank of 9 under Riley), and that's been the difference in winning vs not winning a title. At LSU, he'd have a top 2 or 3 class every year. And if you don't think that matters, we made 3 nattys and won 2 with two shitty coaches simply because of how easy it was for them to recruit.

And it's only going to get more difficult for them when now you get the Texas-aTm rivalry rekindled and have two Texas schools able to sell playing in the SEC.

Is this enough? Probably not. But LSU is going to be a better place to win a national championship or two in the near future than will Oklahoma.

It’s so easy to say who it likely won’t be as to pinning down a choice. I could bet on a bunch of horses not to win the derby and have a high probability of being right.

If you’re so confident, tell us who it WILL be and make a ban bet, puss. Instead of picking out the long shot and saying it’s not him.

Here let me try. It won’t be Tomlin. What did I win?? I’m a fricking genius. Everyone else is delusional.

Yeah, actually. OU used to have some dudes on defense for a while, until Venables left for Clemson.

It might not end up happening, but I fully believe he’s going to have to turn down a disgusting amount of money not to come.

Not in this century. In two of the NC we've won, we've beaten OU.
