I’m not sure but lsu would be very dumb to not at least interview him in my opinion. I would love Lane, but you may get left at the alter and Morris could build something special with our resources.

Their short list was stupidly a few big names that will not leave their current schools. They will fart around for 6 weeks believing these guys arent just leveraging large extensions. Then a panic hire late in the process.

The Saban offer was real. He has also been in BR a couple times the past few weeks, this is a fact. However he has mainly just been consulting and helping out with the search. I would give it a 1% chance he actually coaches here.

Reality is sinking in.
Nick ain't coming. Lane is poised to finish the season 11-1 with a definite playoff berth and probably a 1 st round game on Oxford and a possible job from the Maras in NYC.
So now it is time to consider the fat drunk girls in the bar. Like Heupel.....but he has standards and you ain't that drunk yet.
But hey, there's always Alex Golesh or Jon Sumrall in the corner halfway flirting with you.

Whose short list? No one publicly knows the search committee's short list at this time. What you are hearing and reading is the opinion of pundits and other assorted idiots.

There is a guy here that has or had a decent source because I remember Chicken conversing with him on the matter (and essentially being approving of him). The guy was the only one on this board who knew it would be Brian Kelly back in 2021. I apologize, but I can't remember his username. I'm hoping Chicken may chime in here.

Not a legit source by any means ..... but I have a friend who grew up with a former bama player that is on staff at an ACC school. The former bama player thinks he's going to get hired by Kiffin at Florida next year.
