Recruiting isn't rocket science.

But some are much better at it then others.

Hello Arthur, Mr. and Mrs. Brown.

You are a very talented youn man with lots of potential. If that potential is developed you could be a very special player. Want to see my Super Bowl ring? I earned it coaching a Hall of Fame linebacker.

It would go like this-

Hi I was an all-american linebacker, played in the NFL for 7 years, coached Ray Lewis and the other Raven Linebackers in their Super Bowl run, I was then a DC for the Panthers and followed that up by being the head coach for the Jags and led them to multiple play off appearances.

I know what it is like to be a college and NFL player and I know what it takes to get to the NFL. I can help if that is your goal.

Would you like to play for me?

where do I freakin' sign?

No to JDR. We need a college guy!

If that college guy is a Defensive GURU, hopefully Crowton stays.

Ya'll are stupid to even let yourself fantasize about Del Rio coming to LSU. Why would a successful NFL coach quit to go to a college job? He wouldn't. He can go coach the little kiddies when he's done coaching the men. Let's see, be one of only 32 guys to coach a NFL team and live in Jacksonville, or be one of 108 other guys and have to go lie to kids parents about how great their kid is and live in Baton Rouge. Tough choice.

i would crap my pants if he came to lsu!!!! man that would be the mother of all coaches.

you people that do not want him need to uuuhhh,______

of course i don't see him comming from the lucrative and good job he has now, unless he REALLY wants to coach college kids. Then you have to worry about him going to usc.

something a lot of people forget is that his daughter goes to LSU and his wife is from LA and I believe is also and LSU grad, that along with the opportunity to coach a national cfb power and build a legacy sounds somewhat enticing.

Jacksonville is headed for the playoffs. In fact, many are picking Jacksonville to go deep in the playoffs.

Unless the Jags collapse, and I do not believe there is time for that w/ an 8-3 record, it just seems logistically impossible.

Well he was willing to come interview for the job once while his team was playing in the playoffs. Oh yeah and when his agent didn't get the interview set up right he fired the guy. Nope no interest there.

Add a few things to this and it's perfect.

-We're gonna keep LSU a dynasty, one that I want to run for the next 15 years of my life.

-I'm a player's coach, and would give my left nut to help my kids achieve their dreams...and win a hell of a lot of football games in the process.

-My name is easily "Cajunized" = Del Rieaux

I don't get how people don't understand that he is legitimately interested.

What was the reason Del Rio never interviewed last time?

man I hope he can figure out the difficult art that is recruiting. Does Mack Brown teach a course in the offseason?

One more, I understand you are expected to be drafted highly by the mlb. I was drafted highly myself and had to make the same decision you are faced with. End the end I decided to try both football and baseball in college.

It was while testing myself at the next level playing with HOFer's Randy Johnson and Mark Mcguire that I realized my future was in football. I never would have known that had I not played college ball and saw where my talents were truely best suited.

We can just bring in the one man recruiting wrecking crew, Coach O, to suppliment JDR's gapping weakness.
