well considering there were 5 retarded lsu fans in between every sane hog post- i can understand the confusion, especially from an lsu fan. we have to repeat ourselves 50 times to get something across, must be something in the swamp water i guess.

it really didn't make sense for either side like you say.

Arkansas (as pointed out by several hog fans yesterday) is a desolate wasteland devoid of any real football talent. Arkansas fans believe that Miles (despite his success in selling LSU football to many highly ranked out of state players) could not sell a shite brand like Arkansas to pull in enough recruits to improve the team from a middle of the road SEC team. They're entitled to their opinion and deserve whoever they get.

But Long was willing to get advice from Miles about who to hire? Miles' agent is not stupid - this was George Bass doing his job for Miles.

My guess is that talk centered around Gundy, you get out of the OU and Texas shadow and into the best conference SEC.

Gundy has an offensive background like Petrino.

I can certainly see where Arkansas fans get the delusional reputation. It's not a slightly better job. It is a moderately worse job. Sure our stuff is great and NWA is a better place to live (not just my opinion, but rated that way over and over again), but in order to be better we have to beat them on the field on a consistent basis. We have broke even them last six years and did quite a bit worse than that in the recent past before that. It is certainly possible for us to surpass them. We were quite a bit better than them during the '60's, '70's, and '80's. Don't think that with the right coach that can't happen again. Truth is, Frank Broyles built one hell of a program then chased off the next two great coaches we had. The he hired crappy coaches. Then he had HDN forced upon him and kept his mediocre butt around for too long because he could sometimes win. Petrino came in and awoke the sleeping giant. This hire is critical, but there is no reason, given the resources, the history, and the conference position that we cannot pull in a great hire. Then LSU's second spot in the division isn't going to be quite so secure as it is right now. Granted, Arkansas has been crap since we moved into the SEC, but those days are over and should stay in the past. Don't expect to keep your spot without a real fight.

Nat Champs don't matter for sports like track which are easily dominated

Look at LSU women and what Pat Henry is starting at Texas A&M

Count baseball, hoops and football only

Let's talk Football and Baseball. You know, 2 of the only 3 sports anyone gives a shite about.

National titles are national titles, they are all that matter.

We can talk undefeated football seasons.

Not sure what has you LSU fans riled up. I realize you have the edge in football national titles, and that partially makes up for your lack of overall men's national titles and undefeated football seasons. This is why I said the Arkansas job is only slightly better.

I was trying to compliment your program.
