Post kind of contradicts himself. Says that Ole Miss made the ultimatum for Kiffin to decide, but also says that Florida would epect him to coach in the CFP. So how is that possible if Ole Miss wants him to make a decision beforehand?
Also find this part interesting:
What would Ole Miss do in that situation? They would appear weak in that scenario. All bark and no bite. You wouldn't suspend or fire him because that would be stupid.
Ole Miss needs to come to terms with this part: The contract has been on his desk and he hasn't signed. What is it that he wants that's not there and has anyone inquired about it? Lane has all of the leverage here.

Their ultimatum earned a lot of respect nationally. They do have to follow through at this point, and I believe they will.
I chuckled at this part...like he's trying to convince himself it's so

Why wouldn’t it have? This is a test case. Ole Miss is playing its cards correctly at this point.

LSU being played like the fools we have become again.
Be grateful for ‘03, ‘07 and ‘19.
Saban, Jr. is not walking through the door.

I find it very hard to believe UF would let Kiffin coach the playoffs before finalizing a deal. They’d miss out on the transfer portal and be WAY behind on recruiting.
If a deal is in place, Ole Miss isn’t going to let him coach the playoffs because they would be missing out on the transfer portal and be WAY behind on recruiting.
One way or another, this has to be resolved quickly.

You’re on an lsu board, LSU fans probably outnumber Florida fans 10,000 to 1 if not more
Yes, you’re going to see a lot of LSU threads.

Sounds like everyone is getting played.

Like a battered wife waiting to see if your alcoholic husband really means it this time, that he won’t ever do this again.

What if Lane Kiffin ignores the ultimatum and just keeps coaching? What then? Do you suspend him with pay? What if he sought legal recourse? What are the legal grounds? We’re getting way ahead of ourselves here, but people around the sport are wondering.
These people are idiots. He still has a valid contract he’s working under correct? Then why would you suspend him. Most likely conspiracy theory angle is he blows the egg bowl, misses the playoffs, gets fired for cause and then goes to LSU, Florida, or TX with no buyout requirement.

As spoiled as Cowboys fans thinking every preseason they win another Super Bowl that season after 20 years.

Agree. I don’t get the negativity even if he doesn’t come. Clearly there are considerations going on. Not sure why people say things like no chance. And they’ll be the first to say told you so if he doesn’t. I hope he comes, because I think he’s a great coach, but also to prove so many arrogant doubters wrong.
I don’t even expect it, but I don’t think it’s impossible. Pretty sure he’s deciding between three options.

This is a good point.

I do have a question. If OM suspends Kiffin for not giving them an answer does that violate his contract? If not does he still coach on? Also if OM winds up firing him will they owe him his contract?

yeah, i can see that perspective.
however, devil's advocate... as this search has shown, Kiffin is a hot commodity right now. Lane announcing one way or another would have that school basically recruit itself.
if it's announced after the Egg Bowl, current commits for that school will want to stay committed to play for Lane, whether it's LSU or Florida or Ole Miss.
Billy Napier has been unemployed for almost a month, and Florida has lost 0 committed recruits... I think. They're waiting for an announcement before jumping ship.
