This isn’t a non-compete issue. Everyone needs to just sit down while Nielsen's agent works through the details with the Saints.

Anyway, since Nielsen is under contract, any non-compete language included is enforceable.

As long as it’s legal. For instance, if the Saints claim a move to a position of higher responsibility in a college program isn’t a promotion, then a judge would almost certainly rule that is a subjective and non-enforceable claim.

What's so funny? It's FACT

If the saints are guests then adopting parents arent real parents.

Theyve been here for decades, for half a century. They are not guests

The Saints should really try and put a lid on this. It makes the organization look bad at a time when they are going to need to make some hires soon. I hope they realize this. If it's true they're trying to block an assistant from a promotion then they truly are idiots, if it's not true, then their PR machine should be working overtime to make it known that this isn't what's happening.

Hearing saints have offered Neilson more money. Fighting for him to stay. No way they will pay him more as a d line coach than a d coordinator though

If he is going to make $1 dollar more than his Saints contract stipulates, it is an enhanced and higher position

Peyton is butt hurt because his team failed again.

Promotion to DC at LSU and probably a $1m a year raise is advancement. This will be finalized tomorrow

They won’t pay him more as an NFL DC than LSU will pay him as a DC.

The NFL doesn’t pay coordinators near the money the big time college ball does.

Yep. It’s just a last effort for the saints to keep him. This contract bull shite is just them buying time

Saints first time hearing about this was this morning.

If the Saints just heard about Nielsen to LSU this morning then they truly are an incompetent organization if you can even call it that...I couldn’t be further from either program/organization and I’ve been knowing that O/LSU has wanted Nielsen for DC for at least 2 weeks now...if it’s about breach compensation then just come out and say it instead of being a bitch about it and saying this morning was the first you’ve heard of it

What a fricking fail on our part. LSU will never get their guy.

How is LSU supposed to know there may be wording in his contract stating he can’t leave the Saints for LSU?

I am not worried. There is always some contractual squabbling going on, but the Saints are not going to nix this deal.

They don't have to. It's a professional position vs a college position.

Can’t forget the saints d-line will be gutted a few people this year If the -99m cap is as bad as it sounds.

Is this not part of the process? Every candidate is under contract. Of course you reach out to the agent and make inquiries about language in the contract that might become problematic before you make an offer.

But if this is a disagreement between Neil son and the saints on the wording of true contract, then wouldn’t his agent give lsu their version. The disagreement didn’t come out till today. Obviously the agent didn’t believe that he couldn’t come to lsu.
