Yeah, but that's still a ways away from Kirkwood.
Mormons I've known and worked with that were from Texas, Tennessee, Mississippi, etc. all have ties and family in Utah. It's their homeland
Seriously though, most I know visited Utah quite a bit for LDS reasons. But I get your point.
This is a bizarre fit in Happy Valley. I bet it doesn't happen.

I guess working for Mormons isn't that different than working for the Penn State cult, just more lucrative
I am betting the mormons could outbid PSU if they chose to, but I am guessing they wouldn't. I am also guessing PSU's national stature in CFB is intriguing to Sitake as well.

I can't see this ending well.

ok, this guy's ability to recruit outside of this area and specific types of demographics seems risky
He's been a solid coach, but BYU has a built in advantage he won't have at Penn St in that nearly all really good Mormon football players attend BYU almost as a matter of course. Those players aren't likely to follow him to Penn St (at least in significant number) because BYU is the draw for them...not Sitake.

Do not run afoul of the Mormons. It will not turn out well. They will unleash the three dieties on you and the angel Mormoni. The experience will not be pleasant and your wives will be the price as they will be absorbed into various compounds out west and be forced to bare the children of prophets.
It is best to avoid these folks as they make the children of Abraham look like Quakers in comparison.
Plus BYU can match someone dollar for dollar if they feel like it. Mormons have lots and lots and lots of money

Sitake is probably also excited that his preseason star QB wouldn't get kicked completely out of school for having consensual premarital sex there.
...someone is going to insert a Sandusky joke here, but it won't be me.

Seems like these negotiations would be against the honor code?

Good. I’m not scared of Bama with DeBoer at the helm

From soaking to poking? I'll try harder

Seems like an incredibly risky hire. He has zero connection to the Pennsylvania area. He has very minimal experience recruiting non-Mormons. I know Penn St struck out on any of the big names this cycle. But are they really this dumb to settle like this?
I'm sure there's a number of hotshot coordinators out there that they could have chosen from.

Go get Dillingham or someone like that. Would be far better.
