we have not heard anything out of the haley camp. he must feel like he is going to come out of this a winner. either he is dc at LSU or we give him a big raise to stay on as asst. his silence is golden.

But all 4 point to a search organization that could be in melt down mode like this rant is. The way it's going, that would not be unexpected.

I don't care when the hire is as long as we make the best hire possible. National signing day is still a little while away.

Do U think the DC is the ONLY person who talks to recruits. Hell, even if he hired a DC today that guy would be heavily dependent on the assistants to make call because he would have no famiarity with current players / talent on the team.
I am sure that the DC candidate (future hire) wod let CLM know what type player will fit his scheme.
Whoever makes the visit can relay to the recruits what the scheme / philosophy will be--and probably give enough hints as to "who" it is.
If we lose one or 2...then we can go the JC route to possibly fill the void.
This isn't that big if a deal....unless of course you are a drama queen.

If you listen to Ponamsky then you are giving him what he wants. Please be smarter than that.. DC will be announced before dead period ends.

I don't get if it's Zook, why he's waiting. It would be one thing if he was a DC or even a position coach. The guy is assistant special teams coach. I think they can stand the blow of losing him.

There are only 2 possibilities.
1.) LSU has the guy it wants, and he has expressed enough interest to make LSU think it has a good chance, BUT there is some risk in getting the deal done (most likely that he is waiting on another job)
or
2.) LSU struck out in its first phase of the search. It is now broadening the search and basically starting from square 1. The guy who LSU will ultimately hire will either be an internal hire...or will be someone with whom LSU has not yet interviewed. The info that has been floated was meant to muddy the waters and buy time.
Everyone wants to believe it's #1. Personally, I think there is at least as good of a chance of it being #2.
