But Smart leaving for an imagined UGA opening in the future would not be a blind side. We would have plenty of time to prepare for that. Just give the man a normal buyout. Cam Cameron has been an abject failure (to put it mildly) everywhere he's ever been a HC and there is no scenario he's a HCIW at LSU in any place other than his own mind

No big fan of Joe. Les runs a football operation that creates such a disparity between the O and the D and which can no longer merit the raises that other schools are willing to pay the DC. So why should Joe continue to agree to enable this. Classic case of dysfunctional co-dependency if he agrees to do so.
