If he does leave or "told to look elsewhere"
1. Get a top flight DC regardless of recruiting chops (NFL)
2. Move Brick to LBs
3. Hire Orgeron to DL
4. Profit big time!!!!

All BDP rumors seem to be coming from the LSU side. This is the first I've heard of any of it.

The last or second to last person you want to lose on the staff is corey raymond. The dude is a stud recruiter and pretty good coach. This cat is pulled most of our big guns on defense the last two years.
This is all crazy if we do all this. I can see making one position move to get another guy, revamping the entire staff is stupid.

I realy don't care for Smart, but would gladly take him on his recruiting prowess alone. We do need a guy who can deal with spread schemes however. Hopefully if it is him, he won't fatten our defense.
If we do get him, I wonder just how much his scheme changes compared to under Saban's thumb. Remember Jim McElwain's offense at Co St had developed into a sort of pro/spread type of hybrid, once he left from Bama.
However what I want most is Pendergast/NFL coach (DC), Haley (LB), Orgeron (DL), Raymond stays (DB)

I'd take Smart and Orgeron in a heartbeat.
They are both elite recruiters and I'm sure Smart would orchestrate a fine defense.
Those two on the sideline would be a huge shot of energy as well.
