It would be a mistake to take your family from Oxford to Baton Rouge.
He has the chance to be an Ole Miss legend, as respected as Johnny Vaught and Archie Manning.

And he’d have a chance to come to LSU and win natties.
LSU firing on all cylinders is >>>>>>>> OM firing on all cylinders.
I’m not saying he’s coming bc there’s obviously a lot that goes into making that type of decision, but the above is objectively true.

Because even with an 11-1 record he won’t win the natty at Ole Miss and he will have to work his arse off again to rebuild to be 11-1 next year. Besides that 11-1 was due to a soft arse schedule.
Where at LSU he can win a natty and he can “reload” and not have to “rebuild” as much.

OM schedule has benefited Lane a good bit to over the years, that changes next year.

Oh good the melt. Every national media pundit has called LSU a top 5 job in America. Some have called it top 3 nd some have called it the best. Ole Miss possibly isn’t even in the top 20 realistically. There’s your answer. Not stop melting

Ole Miss has a 2003 “SEC West Banner” since they never win anything even though LSU beat them head-to-head and actually won the division on the way to an SEC and national title.
LSU meanwhile has three national championship flags flying since that time.
That pretty much sums it up right there.

LSU has Facilities, recruiting base, history, recent success, recent individual success, national championship programs all around campus, and they were willing to buy out Kelly, which means they have more money than people think.
When Saban got here they had 1.5 of those. They had a good recruiting base(though not tapped) and they had baseball winning on campus.
Regardless of what people think, this is not some huge rebuild. A good coach can step in and win big immediately. Maybe not NC first year but playoffs should always be the standard.
Ole Miss has none of those things.

Even Archie’s own grandkids are like, no thanks Lane…

He isn't going to. He's said out of his own mouth the only place he'd leave for was Alabama.

This is why Lane leaves OM.
Even at their very best, OM is just 0.500 vs very mediocre BK LSU teams.
Coach O won 6 in a row.

He won’t but our fanbase is in denial just like they were when Kelly was hired

When LSU wants a night game , it gets a night game.
When Ole Miss wants a night game, they get a day game or a SEC team with a losing record at night.
When the LSU fanbase and collective align , they finance years worth of roster talent and depth.
When the Ole Miss fanbase aligns, they finance one or two years out of every five.
OM has Oxford
LSU has 3 NC , two Heisman winners , Butkus winner, several SEC championships, several SEC championship game appearances , a NC runner up and other individual awards over the last 25 years.
When you mention OM in the national sports media, they are referred to as a nice team.
When you mention LSU in the national sports media, they refer to it as a top 5 program.

In today's world of nil and transfer's that all means nothing to kids. Indiana is about to go to the playoffs back to back years while LSU is not with all of that legacy and history. It's about money and playing time. You can build a dynasty at any place if you have the backing and money. Lane has the backing and seems like he has the money. He has no pressure at ole miss, if he does win a natty he will be worshiped at ole miss , if he wins one at LSU he can be fired in two years if it goes sour. Wake up and quit being an idiot fan who thinks too much of his program. Bama has the most history and prestige of any college football team but didn't make the playoffs last year and won't this year unless it wins three out of the next four games.

I don't know why LSU have are responding as though this isn't between Ole Miss and Florida

All I know is Kiffin has created something special at Ole Miss. Watching some of the game last night and how that team celebrates and gets fired up as a collective unit was awesome.
Saban might be a pipe dream, but Kiffin is my next top choice to lead LSU's football progrum.

There is still something to traditional recruiting bases. It’s why guys like Underwood have an easier time staying at Michigan. Yes he got money but it’s also down the road.
LSU is in the state with more talent per capital than anywhere. Momma and Daddy don’t want to travel across the country every week to see their kid play.
NIL it’s important but it’s more important to keep guys from going to other regional schools and LSU will be fine keeping their guys if the coach is the right fit.

One very big reason stands out to me
In state talent. Mississippi simple does not being consistent high rated in state talent. That leads to heavy reliance on portal players and it’s hard to create your culture with that.
Otherwise, Mississippi has 2 state universities. That creates competition for in state talent which is lacking as mentioned.
They also have less money than other programs but that’s possibly overcome.
