I've been a happily married man for many years. It’s just an analogy.

I just don't see what all the fuss is over. So he talked to Michigan's AD...so what. I'll take him at his word, that he wants to be at LSU, until he proves me wrong.

Why the hell is he doing that?

Just a wild guess, but, maybe, because he wants to stay at LSU?

I mean, that would usually be the biggest reason for someone to say something like that. But, of course, since you are a psychic and a mindreader, so why don't you just continue to "enlighten" us with your inside knowlege that Skip, Les, Bass, O'Keefe, Lombardi and Martin don't know.

Coaches loyal to their programs like Stoops and Carrol just hang up.

Show me one even remotely credible source reporting that either Stoops or Carrol hung up on a call from any other school. Once. Ever.

But you are stupid for saying fans drove him away

Says the man using the past tense to describe a move that will never happen. Priceless ignorance.

all I said was that he needs to come out and correct the reports that he is still in the picture to be Michigan's next coach, which is exactly what ESPN and even other tiger websites are reporting

So you are suggesting he should basically spend 24/7 for the next three weeks doing nothing but refuting baseless reports that will continue to come out no matter what happens? Interesting suggestion, but I'd rather he spend most of his time recruiting (outside the dead period) and preparing for the game.

I think at this point in time, Les Miles shouldn't talk to or about UM. In this day and age with 24 hour news/sports channels and bloggers, Perception is Reality. The perception is that he is still interested in UM and he's providing people ammunition to tout the message that he is playing both sides.

Completely disagree. No course of action by Les will in any way affect the persistence of this story in the national media.

If he doesn't talk about Michigan, then it will be, "Well if he wasn't going, why won't he say so (again)?"

If he says, "I'm not going to Michigan," then it will be, "Well, why is protesting so much," and, "we heard the same thing from [insert coach here] before they left [insert team here]," or (as they are actually claiming now), "he's just a liar!"

If he signs ANOTHER new contract extension with a $10 million buyout, it will be, "this just proves how panicked LSU is," and, "$10 million is just a drop in the bucket compared to the longterm success of the Michigan program; they'll pay that in a heartbeat."

If he doesn't sign another new contract extension with a bigger buyout, it will be, "this just proves he's not serious about staying, or he would have put in a $10 million buyout that Michigan would NEVER be able to pay and would shut up all speculation."

The only way Les wins here is by doing what he's doing, coaching LSU and winning the game. Then, when he's on our sidelines next year, every single person that has spent these three weeks clamoring about how he's going to Michigan will just have to sit there and be a worthless sack of shite for calling him a liar.

A real coach would just say he's not interested and keep his word...a la Stoops

And what has Stoops done that Miles has not?

The LSU fanbase doesn't just see the glass as half empty. They see it as cracked, and evaporating at a rate that would astonish the denizens of Nicholson Hall.

No doubt - LSU is in great shape with or without Les Miles as head coach.

He could say, "I will be at LSU until they fire me and I will not coach at Michigan next year, the year after that or the year after that." Then he takes out a Michigan flag and Jersey and sets them on fire, throws them on the ground then pisses on them. That would stop every thing.

Nope, not a chance. Herbie and "Greenie" Mike would be on in 10 seconds saying, "well obviously that outburst was just a ploy to throw off suspicion. No one who wasn't hiding something would make a gesture THAT outrageous!"

For all you know he was given a reference for another candidate. Everybody calm down. He is just a coach. If he stays, wonderful. Great. If he leaves, he leaves. So be it. Just relax. He has a right to talk on the phone to anyone in his profession - just like you do.
