Does everyone on the SECr think he is a bad coach or shouldn't get picked up quickly? I think he came into a craphole and was going to get it out once Sunseri's system kicked in. Would he be a bad move for Kentucky? Thoughts?

We would prefer to hire coaches that could beat us with a WR playing QB. We'll pass.

No way a guy who's coached five losing seasons in his six years as a HC is allowed to remain unemployed as a HC for very long.

i was thinking about this earlier

he has never been an OC/DC, so i don't see him falling back into that. he was a recruiting guy

then he jumped to a HC job

can/will he slide back?

He failed at lawyerin'.

Now he's failed at coachin'.

There's only one logical next step:

Politics.

He's going to be sitting pretty with his $5 million buyout for a decade or so

i think dooley is a credible hc. the situation at ut was worse than awful when he took over. he had to gut the team and play many very young players. what got him was the defense. he must have hired the wrong guy at the wrong time. their d was the worst in the sec.

Hopefully he is never a HC again. I don't wish going through what I have gone through over the past 3 years as a fan on my worst enemy.

Wait how many kids left and how many did he have to throw off the team? Not defending Dooley but keep things in perspective.

I believe the only two players he kicked off the team that he inherited were Darren Myles, Jr. and Janzen Jackson.

He badly blundered the Bryce Brown and Aaron Douglas situations, causing them to transfer.

There is nothing to keep in perspective, he regressed each season and had no redeeming qualities as a head coach.

I think he tried to win the right way. This is an end results business though.

To channel the great Buddy D, Dooley was only 3 players away from winning at Tennessee: The Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.

I think he needs to go back to being a position coach for a while. Tennessee really set him back a ways head coach wise...

If the question is "what do I think will happen..." rather than "what should happen..." than I'll answer as follows...

I think he'll get a HC job at a CUSA or Sun Belt type school. Not that he deserves it, because he doesn't, but it's just the nature of the business. Guys get recycled all the time. He has incredible references, has coached with and for some of the best in the country.
