If Al Gore had invented the internet by then most here would argue for Archer and criticize Spurrier for small sample set at Duke!
By the time Spurrier got the Florida job he had:
3 years as a Coordinator
3 years as a HC in Pro (USFL)
3 years as a HC in college
Brady was an extremely low level assistant 3 years ago.

How many playoff games has he won there? That's what I was referring to. He's also lost a number of games that he shouldn't have.
What a ridiculous standard. Almost any other candidate we could possibly get might not have ever even made the playoffs.
His teams get there every year and are dominant offensively. He’s in a State with shite recruiting and still gets high level classes, the best QBs, and is consistently relevant.
LSU should pray to have that kind of success consistently. And with LSU recruiting and the type of defensive players Louisiana produces, he would level.

I didn't say that was the standard.
The question was why hasn't been able to get that done at one of the best football jobs in the country. Then I even followed that up with how and why would it be different at LSU.
You're just flying off the handle for no reason.

This thread is cracking me up.
Rantards: No to Riley! He can’t win in the playoffs!
Also Rantards: Aranda/Brady/Franklin/Fickell is my #1 choice! None of whole have been the HC of a playoff team.
(To be fair I think Riley is a pipe dream and would be perfectly happy with Aranda or Fickell or Franklin)

Because it’s a dumb nitpick.
Riley can’t get even close to the athlete that LSU can consistently get on Defense. Louisiana produced ridiculous talent on that side of the ball.
He’s a damn good coach.

I never said no to him, dumbass. They were legitimate questions.

Never said that he wasn't. I'm wondering why he's been smoked in the playoffs and why he's lost to unranked Kansas State twice. Why is he barely beating Tulane, Nebraska, West Virginia and Kansas State thus year? Are there legitimate reasons for this?
You're acting like these aren't valid questions to be asking about a prospective coach.

The question is, if it did turn out to be Riley, would he be able to convince Caleb Williams to come with him?
Caleb was an LSU lean before we lost Brady, so I’d think it would be the perfect fit for him. You then have Walker Howard in waiting and build from there. It would damn sure be a good kickstart for a new coach.

Doesn’t matter if OK goes to the SEC, he won’t win a championship there.
He can win a championship at LSU

He’s my #1.

Lol you couldn’t make our entire fan base happy if you had Saban as HC, Sean McVey as OC and Mike Vrabel as DC.
Throw in Kirby Smart as a defensive analyst and I’d buy in!
