This is not the Bee:

quote:

The 2021 class of Forty Under 40

Honoring the Capital Region's brightest young leaders, innovators and business professionals.

quote:

#FortyUnder40

“We still live in ‘A Tale of Two Cities.’ While there is real work being done to address the inequities that we have, we could be more aggressive about building a more inclusive community. Especially in the areas of business and investment. Until north Baton Rouge has the same quality of life as south Baton Rouge, we will never be all that we can be as a city.”

Congratulations to Gary Chambers Jr., a Greater Baton Rouge Business Report 2021 Forty Under 40 honoree.

Can anyone tell me what part of the community blacks are excluded from? I lived in BR for 6 years and there wasn’t a single place I went where black people weren’t present. Jesus frick man

There is nothing stopping this

Instead what is happening is that a lot of South Baton Rouge is becoming like North Baton Rouge. I guess that's the other way to achieve equity.

Bingo. Tearing others down is always easier than building yourself up. Who gives a shite about prosperity when we can all be miserable together!

This won't happen until the folks in north BR stop shooting each other, start valuing education, work on self-improvement, etc.

I rarely get political on here but your post sums up the fatal flaw of liberalism. It sounds real good in their heads though.

Yep, BR Business Report just lost all its credibility.

And I have friends on the 40 under 40 that put in tons of schooling and time into their working field.

Did Chambers even graduate from college????
