Yes, I know it's ESPN and they hate LSU, but pretty cool to see Tari getting this level of respect already:

If he keeps moving up that means that the Tigers are making noise! Gladly pay that price.

I like the noise we’re making, but he’s going to be a pain in the arse to replace if he goes

He'll be a lottery candidate by late February. Hope he stays next year. But who cares that's like ages away

That’s what Julian Phillips is for my friend.

Do y’all see Efton Reid playing his way into the draft this year? Or does he come back for Sophomore Yr?

I think Efton could really benefit from another year. But I don’t know if he has the Naz Reid one year no matter what mentality.

News flash, Tari Eason is damn good at basketball. He’s a huge piece of this team.

I think he will come back. Would prob get drafted but he doesn’t really have a selling point right now outside of his height.

Doesn’t draw fouls
Hasn’t developed 3pt shot yet
Is the 4th best rebounder on his own team

Efton does have good skills but one or two more years of polish could really help him out. Curious to see how he hangs with some of the SEC caliber bigs

I would agree.
He's also not a great defender, and if you can't shoot well from the outside, then you better be a damn good defender. He's by no means a bad defender, but i also donn't know if he can effectively guard nba wing players, or bigger NBA 4's.

I don't know if he's a 3 or a 4. I would think he's more of a 3, but as it was pointed out, he's got to develop a 3 point shot.

No one's drafting him in the first round unless he proves he can shoot.

and that is not some negative i hate lsu post, that's an honest assessment/opinion about a great LSU basketball player that i really like.

Yeah, Efton would be well-served to return. He won’t be ready for the NBA pace of play.

I remember everyone saying Naz should have come back and he got a lot of heat for leaving early but it really paid off for him in hindsight because he was getting minutes right away and has a solid role for the Twolves now. His decision paid off, I don’t think coming back would have mattered all that much.

You are replying to a post about Efton Reid and say you think he's more of a 3 and needs a 3-point shot. Am I reading that right?

Pretty sure Efton Reid is a college 5 and NBA 4. Doesn't really need a 3-ball but needs a more reliable midrange jump. He's got a decent inside game with a nice hook that he's shown off a few times. Needs better hands defensively but is pretty solid at positioning in our switch and rotate defense. Decent rim protector, but needs a bit more experience fighting for those rebounds that too often wind up with smaller teammates.

Yeah but don’t underrate the fact that guys can get paid now through NIL. Anyone that’s borderline used to have the opportunity to go make a quarter mil or so in Europe or as an UFA. But if you can make that same amount and stay in school and not have to uproot that’s a big selling point. We saw a lot of guys leave early out of absolute necessity to provide for family but that’s not an absolute anymore.
