Does drilling American oil cause the earth more harm than buying oil which was drilled in the Middle East or Russia? Is American oil just more oily and warmer than that which is drilled in the Middle East and Russia?

Heard Hannity pose this earlier, and thought it was an excellent question that deserves an honest answer. So, I’d like to pose the same question to those who may worship at the altar of global warming and think that society deserves to pay a tribute to her. What say you?

Op.

You are asking a logical question to people who make decisions based on emotion.

It does not impact their thought process. It’s just muh feelings.

I am sure he had an accurate take full of facts. You should turn it on CNN next and listen to one of their personalities.. They will give you more facts.. Both networks are creditable with creditable personalities.

I like to see if I can get the engine to spark. The answers, though I don’t expect any direct and honest ones, should be funny if they even bother.

Somebody watched Hanity tonight…

It’s the same question that was relevant as it relates to the Paris Accord.

Don't distract them. Those idiots are still trying to formulate a reason how all those electricity generating windmill blades don't impact the environment at all when they have to be buried because they don't decompose.

Here is the real question…
Earth went through an ice age, right?
What has happened to the earth since then? Global warming…was it the Neanderthal’s fault then?

A simpler question is, “What is the Earth’s temperature supposed to be?”

The thought that goes through my mind is that global warming really started exactly halfway through the last ice age

Makes you think

That’s not the point. The point is to increase the cost of fossil fuels, either by decreasing production or increasing the cost of production, such that it promotes alternatives and/or decreases consumption. I’m not one to agree that the aggregate benefit to the environment makes up for the relative economic loss to the US in a scenario where developing nations keep on burning oil and coal. Like most things, it’s not as simple as most people think it is.

To be honest, I nor anyone on this board has enough knowledge to give an accurate opinion.

People can form opinions based on what they know (some people's opinion will be based on information they hear from "news" networks like Fox and CNN).

As for as the question, I don't know what characteristics American oil has and how it compares to oil in Russia or the middle east.

I do know the best quality oil comes from Africa, but China has that on lock.

When I google "how much oil does Earth have" this is the response I get.

quote:

According to the MAHB, the world's oil reserves will run out by 2052, natural gas by 2060 and coal by 2090. The U.S. Energy Information Association said in 2019 that the United States has enough natural gas to last 84 years

But who knows what is true and what isn't.

pretty simple. Warm enough to grow crops, and cold enough so we don't spawn Cat 5 hurricanes all the damn time

Well that is a simply stupid thing to say being as this is a Gulf Coast centric message board.

quote:

As for as the question, I don't know what characteristics American oil has and how it compares to oil in Russia or the middle east.

The characteristics of oil change from field to field, sometimes significantly even in the same field. Russian oil can range from heavy as shite API gravity to where the density is almost that of water that contains significant percentages of asphaltenes, resins, and many other massively sized aromatic molecules all the way to light, tight oils consisting of mostly paraffins.

Same as almost every other oil producing region that is large enough.

quote:

I do know the best quality oil comes from Africa, but China has that on lock.

What characteristics make “African Oil” the best? Please, be detailed as I want to learn. And when you say African oil, do you mean that in Libya, Senegal, off the entire East Coast, Nigeria, or elsewhere? Africa is not a small continent so please be specific.

The proper answer to the question of how much oil does the earth have is “How much are you willing to pay for it?”

Now, to address the original question, due to EPA rules and regulations at production sites, transfer sites (midstream), and refining sites, US oil is cleaner than Russian or Chinese oil.

The biggest lie of modern environmentalists and left wing liberals. The earth has been much warmer and much colder. Oil and gas has little effect. Now deforestation and population explosion trends should be modeled in parallel

Ask why the models projected in the early 2000's for this decade were so far off and what changes were made to make those in 2020+ so much more "reliable". Like Jordan Peterson said they're doing nothing but throwing projections at a wall and hoping politicians act on them.

We’re so self-important, so self-important. Everybody’s gonna save something now: “Save the trees! Save the bees! Save the whales! Save those snails!” and the greatest arrogance of all: “Save the planet!” What?! Are these fricking people kidding me?! Save the planet?! We don’t even know how to take care of ourselves yet! We haven’t learned how to care for one another and we’re gonna save the fricking planet?! I’m getting tired of that shite! I’m getting tired of that shite! I’m tired of fricking Earth Day! I’m tired of these self-righteous environmentalists; these white, bourgeois liberals who think the only thing wrong with this country is there aren’t enough bicycle paths! People trying to make the world safe for their Volvo’s! Besides, environmentalists don’t give a shite about the planet. They don’t care about the planet; not in the abstract they don’t. You know what they’re interested in? A clean place to live; their own habitat. They’re worried that someday in the future, they might be personally inconvenienced. Narrow, unenlightened self-interest doesn’t impress me.

Once again George Carlin nails it.
