One of the really nice guys in the game. Happy that he is getting this chance to lead.

Think he will be a great captain.

As in trolling Phil? I don’t think this was a troll attempt, but it is possible Phil hurt his chances with his comments.

Don't know what you are speaking of or trying to imply but I really like Zach.

Good Christian guy that loves his family and respects the game of golf.

Phil never entered my mind.

If believing in Zach is trolling, so be it because in my mind he deserves his shot.

No - as in trolling the board. ZJ may be a fine person but I'm not sure anyone can get excited for this pick.

Eh, Steve Stricker had a commercial back in the day poking fun at how milquetoast he is. As long as the US has the decided talent advantage again, Zach should have a pretty easy, simply job.

I would say that the one thing Players gravitate towards is a guy that is well respected by his peers.

We have had plenty of flashy captains that got their arse beat.

I would vote for David Toms. He is respected by his peers and loved on the Tour. I hope he will be the Ryder Cup captain at least once.

He's just not liked by alot of people. If you asked me to list my top 100 favorite golfers he'd probably come in at 98, just ahead of Rory Sabatini and Brandle Chamblee.

That's the part I don't get. He has no history similar to those you listed.

You're not wrong...lol. I did see him dust off a bunch of kids looking for autographs after the Zurich a couple of times. Don't remember his rounds but maybe he was having a rough go of it. I kinda understand I guess but that's what soured me on him. I don't "hate" the guy...he's just not up there on my popular list fwiw (which is nothing, btw lol).

Truth be told he's probably a good guy, idk.

Never heard anything bad about Zach.

I played in the Shell Houston Pro-Am with Curtis Strange one year with 2 of my best customers and my boss.

What an arse, he talked to us on the first tee and didn't say another word until we were done on the 18th.

My Boss was so pissed, he let Duke Butler head of the tournament have it in the clubhouse.
