College Softball is on the rise and Beth Torina is shining

Saturday night's matchup between LSU and Arkansas, which aired on ESPN2, drew 355,000 viewers.
This out drew the Sweet 16 NCAA Womens basketball game between Texas and Ohio State, as well as a prime time NHL game, Sunday's MLS soccer game, and an NCAA tournament Hockey game between Minnesota and Western Michigan.
ESPN has moved this coming Saturday's LSU/Kentucky softball game to prime time at 6:00 ET on ESPN.
Beth is putting this program in the national spotlight and things are only going up from here.

Beth is underachieving. Something needs to give or we'll continue to be a mediocre program. I don't care about TV ratings. I care about winning.

I played baseball, my son played baseball and I have two daughters playing softball. Fastpitch softball is a helluva sport to watch. I’ve had more fun at my daughters tournaments than at my sons. Honest to God truth.

That's all cool but if you are going to lose consistently on national television I don't know if I want to be in that kind of spotlight. So far the bama series is our only highlight of the season.

Being in the spotlight is one thing, but don't act like Beth is crushing it. I had so much hope for her and the program only to be constantly underwhelmed.
Winning matters more than the spotlight.

They will have to perform well the rest of SEC play because as of now they would have to travel for regionals. The last time they didn’t host regionals was 2014
LSU has performed well at home but are 4-8 on the road this year.
This team isn’t consistent unfortunately. They have a great showing against Alabama then lost 5 out of the last 6 weekend series games. I wouldn’t use the word shinning to describe this team right now. They are very capable but they have to be more consistent down the road

Torina has been a let down. She has everything she needs to compete top 8 nationally every year and she can’t get it done. That’s unfortunate because I had high hopes for her.

In college they took away a lot of excitement by changing those bats.The 90s and early 2000s was all of my childhood and that was the prime time for baseball.Since then baseball has been dulled down I still love it but nothing can replace that ping from those old bats and the offensive outburst from back in the day.It was perfect

I don't know that she is underachieving. Maybe this is the best she can do. I But I like her and have met her before before and she is a awesome lady. The girls appear to love her, but something does appear to be missing they just haven't reached that next level.

I think Dobson hasn’t lived up to what we thought he was gonna be! I think if Beth got a better hitting coach this team would be on par with Alabama

From my observations this is one of the best lineups the Lady Tigers have put together both in the field and at the plate. They are very young and very good. They battle to the end and it's hard to get the 3rd out of the inning on these ladies. Fun to watch. I agree w your assessment!
