Yelp will reimburse employees who need to travel to access abortion services

Starting next month, Yelp says it will cover the costs of travel if an employee or their dependent needs to leave the state to access abortion services, as first reported by The New York Times.
The company employs around 200 people in Texas, where legislators passed the strictest abortion law in the country last September.

Yelp says its health insurance already supports abortion care, but its new policy extends coverage beyond that.
According to the NYT, employees will soon be able to provide receipts to their health insurance provider showing proof of travel to an abortion clinic. The insurance company will then reimburse the employee directly while maintaining their privacy, as the process won’t involve Yelp at all.
The policy doesn't just apply to employees living in Texas — it’s an option for anyone at the company who needs to travel for abortion access.

“We’ve long been a strong advocate for equality in the workplace, and believe that gender equality cannot be achieved if women’s healthcare rights are restricted,” Miriam Warren, the chief diversity officer at Yelp, said in a statement

Billion Dollar Bully is a documentary film about Yelp and its alleged business practices. The film is directed by Kaylie Milliken and produced by Prost Productions. The film was released on May 21, 2019.
quote:
Milliken said that she decided to take on the project when her doctor told her that she had begun seeing negative Yelp reviews for her practice that she was unable to reconcile with actual patient visits, and that she had become convinced that some of the reviews were fictitious when a complaint was posted describing symptoms she had never seen in her practice.
Business Insider reported that on the day following the film's initial press release and Kickstarter campaign, Yelp stock declined by 4% in afternoon trading.

Dayum. I'm trying to add something to this, but I got nothing. You've rounded off the internet savagery for the day. Gnight now.

Yelp is the most corrupt company in America.
It makes money encouraging bad reviews on businesses yet it’s own business review out of a perfect 5 stars is ONE lousy star.
It’s the very definition of a hypocrite.

I don’t actually mind when mentally unstable people get abortions.

If they don't want to be pregnant, why did they get pregnant?

Don't use Yelp. They are bogus. Businesses pay to have bad reviews removed.

Ok. Not using Yelp anymore. Wonder if Trip Advisor does the same thing?

Men can’t murder babies either. Equality.

Why would a business be proud to enable employees to have abortions? The moral decay in this country is unbelievable.
