Saints WR Corps might be a bit overrated

Michael Thomas has been injured and hasn’t played since 2020.
Chris Olave is a rookie and totally unproven.
Jarvis “Juice” Landry has been injured and is probably on the down slope towards the end of his career.
Marquez Callaway is a 3rd or 4th WR, and that’s probably about the ceiling for his potential.
Tre’Quan Smith is terrible and probably should have been cut a couple of years ago.
Hopefully they’ll prove me wrong and become the All-World WR group that so many Saints fans seems to expect.

I don't completely disagree, but the ceiling is much higher than it has been in quite some time.

Michael Thomas is a former all-pro receiver with 2 years of rest ready to eat.
Chris Olave has been training with Thomas in Cali for the past few years, so we know exactly what we're getting.
Jarvis "Juice" Landry's best traits, his hands and route running capabilities, probably haven't regressed with age.
Marquez Calloway performed decently as our #1 receiver at times last year, and we're asking him to be our #4.
Tre'Quan Smith was our #2 at one point, and now we're asking him to be our #5/6.
See what I did there?

then great because that's who he currently is for us.
sounds pretty rated to me.

This team got 9 wins with no WRs, missing half the oline, Covid outbreaks of biblical proportions, and Ian book and TS got starts at qb. I think we're gonna be just fine with our WRs

Yet another dumb take from cbree88

Have you ever started a positive post about the Saints? Or, is everything doom & gloom in your eyes?

I really think he's telling what he believes to be the truth.
He just doesn't see it like you & I do.

I’m sure you’re a real genius.
Care to make a contribution to the thread by making an intelligent comment to refute my original post?

whose rating are you going by?
Does each of Olave and Landry and Thomas not substantially upgrade what we had last year on the field?

I don't disagree with this, I'm just wondering if he sees any bright spots on this team. He really does appear to have a doom & gloom take on the team. If I didn't know any better, I would expect him to have the Saints challenging the usual suspects for the #1 overall pick in 2023 (not that they have their 1st next year)

It's stupid to say as a 40 year old but maybe having an Ohio state guy drafted higher than him and being tge newest shiny toy will light a fire under his arse

Must be nice to set yourself up in a constant winning position.
Either your post is true and the corps (thanks for getting that right btw. 1 internet point to you) is a bit overrated and you get to celebrate being right or we're really fricking good and you get to celebrate regardless.

Or we might have the best WR group in the NFL

Why? You think wrs having injuries mean they won't be good. Injuries happen. Literally all the time. Mike had a bad ankle injury and took bad advice. He didn't split both Achilles. You're exaggerating.
You also think a 29 year old is on the down slope of his career, when he's never had a good qb to the point that Jameis is a legit upgrade.

He is literally the 3rd or 4th wr on this team. How are you knocking him for this?

Tre’Quan Smith is terrible and probably should have been cut a couple of years ago.
Tre is an excellent blocker that will probably be in on 5 wr sets and that's all. Calm your tits.

You've seen 1st round wrs dominate year one as the 1st/2nd option and this dude is being asked to be our wr3. Again, you're projecting worst case scenario shite.

your threads on this board are of no more value than the shite/fart threads you seem to specialize in on the OT...

I'm 43, not stupid at all. Need to add though, Thomas will still believe he's the best WR in football and want to prove it.
