You call Sacramento and package this year and next year picks with a player say Hayes,Kira etc. Than you tell the Commish you'll be drafting Jaden Ivey but if they stay out Dyson Daniel's should be the pick.

The only way I see us trading up is if Jabari Smith falls

Why would the kings want to do that?

No, just no.

Next year’s pick is a swap with the Lakers. If we don’t have the pick, it means that the Kings get to use the swap.

That makes this a non-starter unless we get an unbelievable deal.

I think we should stay put. Draft the best player available

I agree with SVGburnnerSVGburnner, if we don't stay put, I rather move down than up

Stay put, and draft the right guy. Build with youth.

The kings GM had stated that they will listen to offers for the pick sir.

I think we have reached a point as a franchise where we need to use our pick every year and supplement the highly paid veterans on the roster with guys on rookie scale contracts.

Cheap talent is invaluable right now

And luckily enough, we have a top 8 pick

Going forward money will probably be the limiting factor of the roster. Paying Herb might mean not paying Trey which means you need someone cheap and equally effective on standby.

The Nuggets are an example of a team that has drafted so well they can't afford to keep everyone. Like when they traded Malik Beasley for a 1st because they couldn't afford to resign him and everyone else that has worked out.

If we aren’t there, we are close to it.

We have a ton of depth on our bench as of now and the main dead weight I see is Temple and Graham.

Kira and either Jax or Nance could move. Honestly, I would rather keep Nance than Jax as of this second because Nance is a high BBIQ guy and Jax is not.

Herb vs Kira is a no brainer as of this second.

Kira could step up or Herb could regress but we know what we have in Herb as of now and it made a huge difference for us this year.

Sure, but that’s not a very attractive offer imo. Hayes has a bit of value, Kira probably not much. You have to give up a lot to trade from 8 to 4 typically

Realistically, the only way that we could trade up to #4 would be to involve a third team. That's because the Kings want to make the playoffs next season. They've been terrible for so long that they want immediate improvement, not future picks.

So, we'd have to find a team that wants future picks that also has a player that the Kings want.

any trade the pels make on draft day needs to be uneven from a roster standpoint...2 for 1 at least. If they don’t they cannot use the MLE or any part of it unless they waive and eat a guaranteed contract

we’ve not discussed Naji much lately but I have to think he has some value AND he’s cheap. Package hayes or Lewis with Naji and I think you get some bites. Nobody is taking graham or temple unless we attach a pick to them

Maybe we can find a 7ft player that can hit 60/35/75% shooting to play as a back up 4 or fill in at 5 when needed if we trade away our pick and Jax.

I’ve seen you stand up for Jax several times, so clearly you are a fan of his. Being he’s due for a new deal here pretty soon, what do you think we should do? Lay down the check book for him, or let him walk?
