Identifying mental illness in gun applicants.

Is like trying to put the horse back in the barn. These people are adults, and the crazy is already set in by the time they're old enough to buy a gun. Chances are, if they can't buy a gun, they'll find another method to inflict these type of horrors.
This might sound old fashioned, but I believe parents have been stripped of the ability to effectively punish their kids.
Teachers have no recourse when dealing with unruly students.
Currently kids spend their days trying to get "views". The extent they will go to do so has gotten progressively more risky.
The point is, we need to start earlier with all children. Kids these days can get away with just about anything. They are not being punished so they think they can do whatever.
Of course, this is not a cure-all but waiting until they're adults is simply too late. Not to mention finding an effective method for said identification.

No trannies should be the first rule if we’re going down that road.
Honestly don’t even know if the shooter is really a tranny but I still feel like if we’re going to start taking away rights it should be those weirdos first.

Quit worrying about keeping guns out of the hands of the mentally ill and worry more about putting guns in the hands of those that want to protect the innocent.

The Buffalo shooter literally threatened to shoot up a school prior to shooting up a grocery store. I imagine the Uvalde shooter will have shown similar threats/signs
