Bridgestone stands with the PGA Tour and has ended their 6 year agreement with Bryson.

“The PGA Tour is an extremely important part of professional golf, and Bridgestone has a sports marketing relationship with this highly visible series of tournaments,” a Bridgestone representative said in a statement to GolfWRX. “In considering that Bryson DeChambeau will no longer be participating in these events, Bridgestone and Bryson have agreed to end their brand ambassador partnership.”

This is only the beginning. The PGA has declared war and is behind the scenes pulling all the strings. They will start playing the human rights card harder if they need to. Saudis are going to take a bath on this.

Don’t think this is part of the ‘war’! They signed a contract with him based on him playing PGA tournaments w/ much more visibility than the LIV is providing.

Maybe not because they have deep pockets, but they will get crushed on this by almost every large entity involved in golf.

A man was sentenced to 5 years and prison and 500 lashes, yes lashes, just for being gay in Saudi Arabia. You think these corporations are going to be ok with having their names all over tournaments run by the oligarchs in that country?

shite they freak out over “proper” gender pronouns

like I said, y’all are extremely naive as to how this is going to play out

It’s collateral damage. None of those guys will have club deals long term if (big “if”) LIV makes it

Yeah the LIV guys don’t need the pay for play deals most of the journeymen need but there won’t be tour trucks or any of that support either.

No different

Once the initial big paydays to guys like mickelson and DJ are gone the younger guys aren’t going to be getting the same money and will be faced with losing sponsorships. Do they push all their chips in so early in their career?

I’m sorry. Have you ever heard of a county called China? They were all there for the Olympics.

I have. I also know that none of these companies are worried about selling their products in Saudi Arabia. China is the largest global market and all these corporations want in on that.

What does Saudi have to offer them?

Personally I don't give a rat's arse about the Saudi's and them trying to redeem their image.

My Company lost 2 people in 9/11.

The players are independent contractors and they alone will have to deal with any fallout.

They better grow some thick skin because there will be fans that will attack them.

If there is anything good about the LIV, hopefully it will enhance the PGA Tour experience.

Right now I see LIV as a novelty. TBD if it has any staying power.

I have always said that the dirty money argument is bullshite and carries no water. However, thinking you have a right to play somewhere is bullshite. When you sign a membership agreement you accept the rules of the membership.

Are you telling me these PGA Tour players get sponsorship deals before they start winning tournaments? They are making money without having to win?

How will they stay motivated to play good golf? Tiger Woods said it’s impossible.
