I recently hooked up a turntable to my system and binged on the first rekkid thru Carolina Dreams. Brought back a lot of memories for sure! I even got to see them when the Superdome first opened in 1975 with Wet Willie, CDB and the ABB. Also caught them at the old Country Music Fest at the Fairgrounds among other places.

I’ve never owned a car that didn’t have either an 8track, cassette, or cd of their greatest hits album in the car.

I know he grew a beard, but Toy's appearance and voice changed dramatically in a short time. RIP and TYFYS.

Them, along with The Amazing Rythm Aces, probably shaped my first musical direction.

Everybody has heard their hits, but I really dig this song. It's got a completely different feel, rhythm, and groove to it compared to their other stuff. The drummer just won't stop, he drives this song. It's almost 7 minutes long too!

I saw them several times, they use to come to Huntsville a lot. Always tight as a tick.
They started drifting to the more Jazzy stuff as they went along, which is great for the musicians, if that's what you want to do, but it kind of leaves the audience behind.

Personally I consider Ol’ Cowboy to be one of their hits, but it’s great either way. Checkout the Marcus King cover of it.
My first ever concert was MTB, CDB and Hank Jr at Starwood in Nashville. My mom and granny dropped us off lol.
A couple non hit, album cuts I’ve always loved………
Walkin’ the Streets Alone
See You Later, I’m Gone.

I saw them in BR in the late '70's. I think Blackfoot was the opening act.
