I received a letter today from the SSA stating that I will be getting an increase of 8.7% in my SSA check starting this Jan.1st 2023. They show the amount I am getting now and then the new amount which is almost $200 LESS than I am getting now. Anyone else come across this? Could they be this inept?

I believe 2023 Medicare premiums are scheduled to go down by 3% but IRMAA’s may have risen based on personal income.

#BoomerProblems
Us millennials and Gen Z folks will never see a dime of SS bc boomers are getting increases above inflation and drawing SS for too long

You'll be fine. You have bitcoin. Are you suggesting older people die sooner? Let's not forget many of those folks actually contributed for 40 years.

My kid is getting a whopping $35 on his disability. We won't qualify next year anyhow but still, we just got him on so he could get in line for respite care. It takes a LONG time to move up that list.

Over those 40+ years, inflation has averaged around 4% while the SS "Trust Fund" pays around 2% interest. And along came Biden and his merry band of Marxist hens.

All those programs are 80% fraud. All of them need completely overhauled.

Certainly doesn't help curb inflation.
The working people are definitely not getting 8 percent increases across the board.

You can request a waiver, but she may not qualify.
