Presuming the Pels have something like pick 12-14 and don’t get a huge lottery win, given the roster and current cap, what does the front office need to do?

Tankathon would put the Pels with Keyonte George, 6’4” SG from Baylor.

The best 3pt shooter on the board. I don't care if he can't dribble. SHOOTING

They are trading the pick and other picks with players to acquire veteran players

What do you think makes sense?

I don't have the slightest clue, I've never been good at predicting that to be honest.

But I think that's what they are doing.

I think the needs look something like:

1. Shooting
2. Backup 4
3. Rim protection/Interior D

IMO with the right player the Pels could help 2 & 3 at the same time, maybe even some of 1 depending on how elite the player (ex. Lauri Markkanen…obviously not a backup 4).

Actually I wonder what a Markkanen/Kessler swap for Zion might look like?

We need a rim protector more than anything on this team IMO.

There's just not many guys to choose from at 14. You got Lively but he has no offense and is a project.

I wouldn't even bother with a rim protector in this draft. Shooting and a legitimate PF seems more viable through the draft.

I just don't think there is "time" for another rookie.

They need to get better and get better right fricking now.

If they don't the Front Office is gone.

So...they are making trades.

Draft a rookie for Willie to bench for Naji? No thanks.

Maybe Kris Murray…he’s old for the draft but maybe fits the timeline better and could help at the 4 and shooting.

Jett Howard, Michigan, is a shooter with 6’8” size.

Leonard Miller didn’t really develop as a shooter and seems limited as a shot blocker, but maybe?

They are 1000% trading the pick. You think Willie is going to play a rookie next year?

I'm already worried about Dyson's minutes and development next season. Not even sure what role he fits on right now.

Willie not playing Dyson in the Play In says all you need to know about the draft pick assuming it doesn't jump into the top 4.

JV just isn't the type of Center Willie wants. The pick will probably be bundled with JV and other players/stuff for a Center that fits what Willie wants to do better. Top candidates are Myles Turner and Nic Claxton, but neither team needs or wants to trade them, so you're going to have to over pay for either. I'd bet more on Turner simply because he's been "available" for the last 4 years and the Pels are tied to him every year and apparently offered #4 for him once upon a time.

If there is an out of left field solution they should try to find it before overpaying.

What does a Turner or Claxton do for the payroll/tax situation for year after next?

Wouldn't that put us way over? We have Jval coming off after next season, so we'd be adding an additional $20mil or whatever for 2024-2025, right?

I don’t think Claxton is signed after next year (he’s at like $8mm next year), and Turner is about $20mm (+$5mm over JVs current) for the next 2.
