I'm falling head over heels for Miller as the guy for the pels.

6'10.5 212 lbs 7'2 wingspan 19 yo

Played for the G league ignite and put up:

17/10 on 54/30/79 in 30 mpg

Great rebounder

Excellent finisher around the rim

Really good handle for his size, he loves to grab the defensive board and drive it the length of the court. Good at attacking closeouts.

Not afraid of contact whatsoever, he regularly drives into the chest of whoever is standing between him and the rim.

Has shooting upside. 30% from 3 isn't great but he was shooting from the NBA 3pt line and had decent volume at 2.4 3PA/gm. Combine that with a pretty good 79% ft and I think he can get to 35-36% from 3.

Downside is he can get lost on D but his effort and motor are always great. With Nba coaching i think its very fixable and he has some potential as a small ball 5.

I think the pels should run to the podium if he's available at 14. He should be able to step into the backup 4 spot immediately

Nothing would piss me off more than drafting a project big that shows signs of not having bbiq and can’t shoot.

Dude is slow. Isn't a shooter. Just a raw project. We need shooters with high percentage threes and quickness to sure up the second unit.

If he is raw then so is scoot henderson. They played on the same team and scored almost the same amount of points but leonard was much more efficient 63 TS% vs 54 TS%. He also has better PER, ORTG, and DRTG than scoot. He has a higher 3PA rate and fouled less than scoot.

Really?

Did you forget that Willie is still the coach? He may not be afraid to play rookies, but he absolutely won't play someone that kills the defense except for CJ.

We also don't know how much the team believes in EJ and Karlo. They may not see as big of a need at backup big as we ended the season with.

That's the thing about the g league, you just don't know what will translate when it comes to offense skills. A lot of the things he can pull off in the g league isn't going to work in the league and teams aren't going to use him that way either.

Scoot has elite athleticism, lateral movements, and speed. Those trait always translate. Not to mention he's a good shooter from the midrange.

I wanted to be a fan of Millers but just don’t love his film.

I’d rather keep the longer/better athlete we have in Jaxson on a reasonable contract, if we want a developmental big on the roster, and get a big shooter at 14.

So all y’all of you rather a potential non playoff rotation “Shooter” over someone whose got all the tools to be a great modern NBA big? After seeing us get picked apart defensively in crunch time and give up 15 offensive rebounds a game we need a shooter to “sure up the second unit”

And I forgot! We get to deal with that tall French mf the next 8 years too! Just put Jonas on him!!!
