What is the most unwelcoming place to outsiders?

Kind of a spinoff on aspects Killdozer story. I think of Plaquemines Parish back in the Perez days. I would think most small towns that are surviving now have to accept some investment from outsiders trying to get away it all. Any experiences with locals that don't take too kindly to strangers?

I was in Trinidad for work years ago and partying at a bar near the beach. It started getting dark, in multiple ways. We were with a local, but still were kindly told it was time for us to GTFO.
