He kills the whole narrative that Zion doesn’t have a relationship with his teammates.

Any other details of note?

This is great. How does this keep Zion on the court in 2023-2024?

what is he suppose to say?

Zion listens to him, respects his approach, his resume.
Everything he says to the media is sugarcoated, he doesn’t sugarcoat it to Zion.
He’s seen changes in his approach.
Zion sits next to CJ and Temple on team plane. They are very close.
CJ has had serious conversations on multiple occasions. Told him “You can be as good as you want to be, I can be the best level of CJ and that’s a level alot of people can’t get to.” He used the analogy of planets and stars, planets are like Jokic, Steph etc, you are a planet and you have ti do the things to be that planet. His mom can’t want it, his dad can’t want it, Zion has to want it. That includes eating right, working out etc.
Very good listen to go back to.

I want CJ's influence on Scoot at this point.

Agreed, get that influence on a Zion and Scoot led team and we will be in the championship conversation.

I took it more as the PC way of CJ letting everyone know he's kinda fed up with Zion, mainly with him not taking his rehab seriously.

It’s just time for the kid to grow up finally. If he doesn’t do it this year he’s never going to. He will be another Ben Simmons.

but what does he do when zion isn't around him.
we are starting to find that out.
You can babysit someone as long as you want, but at some point the kid has got to make the right decisions on his own and grow up.
Doesn't matter who is surrounding him. You have to hold YOURSELF accountable.

CJ, great mentor, not so great with analogies.

CJ has had no problem calling out Zion publicly. One of the first things he did when he got here.

This is old and hes not going to call Zion out publicly in the offseason like that. I do think Zion has relationships but how close of a relationship compared to others i dont know.

It's the PC version, but it's pretty clear IMO CJ is telling us he wasn't happy with Zion and let him know that face to face. Then he's just cleaning it up for the interview.
