On one hand I’m sorry for the 14 year old, on the other natural selection worked like intended. The great outdoors isn’t some Disney film.

One would think they could have live off of their fat stores.

In July, the Gunnison County, Colorado coroner identified the bodies as sisters Christine and Rebecca Vance, both in their 40s, and Rebecca's 14-year-old son, who was not named because he is a minor. All three were residents of Colorado Springs.
Another case of white women syndrome. That boy had no chance.

It's truly amazing how ignorant and narcissistic people are when they think living in nature is easy. I never get shocked at how ignorant people are about nature. Just a few years back, Chris Mcandless met a similar fate in Alaska. People think nature is unicorns, rainbows and singing kumbayya.
Here's the deal. In nature only the strong survive. Not the weak and certainly not the stupid. Everyday is a battle to live.

By the looks of them, hibernation might have worked.

Living off the grid isn’t something you just do. There are preparations, training/learning, planning, these people basically committed slow suicide.
I’ve been through multiple survival schools and still would have a difficult time surviving in that area in the winter. That’s world class stupidity.

They thought they could winter it out in a tent?
The shallow end of the gene pool is safer now.

My dad was born in 1928 on a farm with no running water or electricity. He always said although they didn't have it bad for times, with enough to eat and a house to stay warm, everyday it was a struggle to survive.

That's how my Dad grew up. You could never really take a breather. Make the most of every ray of daylight.

Sounds like they took her advice and didn’t really try

and Gunnison is one of the coldest, harshest places in the U.S. in the winter.

Looks like the sky screamer gods could not supply enough carbohydrates to keep them alive.
