Didn’t expect to see him tee it up with Ryder Cup just a week away.

It’s widely reported that every LIV golfer must play in every event right?

For the most part, but who knows what they’re actually obligated to do.

Paul Casey, Lee Westwood, Thomas Pieters, Anirban Lahiri, and a couple others have all missed tournaments so far this year.

It was literally released in the court documents last year. Takes 2 seconds to google.

As previously reported, every player under contract with LIV is expected to participate in every event on the schedule. There are eight LIV events scheduled for this season, while 2023 will feature 10 events. In 2024, and each subsequent season, LIV plans to stage 14 tournaments.

The year is 2023 & this is their 12th tournament already.
As I previously reported, there have been multiple players that have not played in LIV tournaments so far this season.

Looking at Taylor Gooch’s contract, it says “The Player shall not refuse to participate fully in any Event due to a conflict with a Key Event unless such Key Event is scheduled to take place within 5 days of the applicable Event.”

Assuming Koepka’s contract is the same, it seems like he could choose to not play since the Ryder Cup starts on Friday 9/29.

He is young and strong.

Playing golf two weeks in a row shouldn't be a strain.

I’d hope to be paired with JR Smith. Guy can ball and is wild. Whereas Big Kat hits balls with locked knees.

Wasn’t worried about him playing two weeks in a row. He’s done that 5 times this season.

More so about playing in Chicago on Sunday & in Rome on Friday.

I usually keep up with LIV & watch some of the tournaments. However, I don’t plan on watching any golf on Saturday or Sunday

He probably doesn't want to get his hands cut off with a bone saw for skipping the event.

I wouldn't worry. Jena will have him ready.

Did they miss due to injury or just choose not to play? Seriously asking

And with the team aspect, how does it work? Do they have alternate players?

Bigger concern would be that he and his wife just brought home their first just a few weeks back after an extended stay in the NICU.

I am sure they have a night nurse and all that, but my arse would be absolutely dragging even then given all that then flying to Chicago to play then flying to Rome to play.

LIV didn’t allow koepka to miss while his son was just born and very sick in NICU

This isn’t surprising

I’m not sure why they missed, but I’d assume injury or illness.

As far as the team aspect, yes they have 4 alternates listed on the roster.

Andy Ogletree has filled in on 2 different teams this year (& finished 6th once for 600k)
