“If it's the four best, then why do we play the games?.The sanctity of our sport is at stake if we leave out an undefeated P5 team. I look at the idea of an an undefeated power 5 team being left out as an absolute travesty."
Then, two days later he said the committee got it right. Look, I have always said the ESPN controls things narrative is a conspiracy theory. However there is no reality in which someone has this big of a change of a heart in two days. Something was told to these people.
Here is the video of Greg

I said on Sunday that I have always been McElroy fan, but he folded like a cheap suit.

I am perfectly fine with people thinking the committee got it right. I whole heartedly disagree but it’s an opinion
But this is just so odd. Multiple personalities on ESPN had complete 180s in a few days. It is clear as day someone told them to change their tune quickly. The question is who

it doesn't matter. Espn and the media are a lot like the NfL.
they have too much control and don't blink because they know people will still watch no matter the circumstance.
for all those that say that the NFL is a joke and just watch college only...
Well, here you go this is where you are at.

My question is who told him what? Did ESPN tell him to shut the frick up? Why though? Why would they do that unless they have some reason to?

I don't see where G-Mac's position was different from anyone else at the desk, with the exception of Booger. Everyone said that FSU was deserving but not one of the 4 BEST.
His concept of the sanctity of college football being at stake is ridiculous. We simply have only 4 spots available for at least 7 worthy teams this year. The Playoff Committee has been struggling with the math since 2014.

Did you mean to post this in another thread or something

72 hours later he says it should be bama and they should choose by who they think is best. . That isn’t odd to you?

It's like when Finebaum said what Michigan did is no big deal and everyone in the SEC does it...
Then 72 hours later, Harbaugh is the worst person on Earth and what Michigan did ruined the sanctity of the sport...and they should be banned from the playoffs if they go undefeated.

I have no idea what he means. I will say that associating Sanctity and FSU is a bunch of bull.
Michigan, Georgia, and FSU had ridiculously easy schedules this season. Going undefeated was no big deal, so this undefeated stuff as part of his football church dogma is really for the birds.

What a pussy. Goes on and on about how much he revers college football, insinuating he’s some sort of purist. Then turns face once his employer tells him to.

There is no truth telling in Corporate media...
Whether you like Whitlock or think he's a blowhard, he worked for them and said, nobody can say the truth, can't speak their mind, can't rock the apple cart. So, we live in a news, sportsworld too of whores telling us where the Bear shits in the buckwheat...when the average Joe knows better than Herbie's crocodile tears.

On one of the post game shows he emphatically said bama "EARNED" it. Never forget how much money ESPN pays the SEC & what the SEC gives back in return. i.e. control.

Yet the committee chairman said Liberty going undefeated trumped having the easiest schedule in the country when putting them in the Fiesta Bowl.
