The Dakotas are split along with the Carolinas and in my experience the people and the culture are identical in both.

Louisiana on the other hand you have coon asses that don't speak English. Predominantly catholic and liberal.

North Louisiana is more conservative. Baptist. Farmers, loggers and rednecks.

Where in God's name are you from? Iberville Parish going for Biden shocked me at first then I realized their population center in Plaquemine, so nevermind. EBR, St. Helena, Orleans, St. James, and St. John the Baptist Parishes are no real surprise.

North Louisiana would be unbelievably poor without daddy Orleans and EBR paying all the bills

Louisiana is actually extremely conservative socially.

We just have the fiscal policy of a bunch of big spending progs.

There's a whole slew of South Carolinians who would strongly disagree.

I don’t know where you’re getting your information from, but while left Catholicism to become a Protestant, my extended family and almost everyone I went to Catholic school with are very predominantly Catholic, and about as far to the right as one can possibly go to, and except for some words and phrases here and there, we had the Cajun beat out of us a couple of generations ago.

I do however notice a stereotypical ignorance in your sentiments. Is that what we should assume is predominant in North Louisiana, or is that just you being you?

You already did that...after Katrina. It was the Mariel boatlift X10. Shreveport sucks because of the influx from below I-10.

The true divide is Saints fans vs. those godless Cowboys shitheads in Shreveport.

For the country, we'd be far better off splitting states such as coastal and mountainous California or giving Northern Virginia to DC.

Louisiana is already probably the 45th or so best state. If the state was split between north and south Louisiana, north Louisiana would definitely be the 51st

South Louisiana would have New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, and Lake Charles.

North Louisiana would have Shreveport, Monroe, and Alexandria. How is that any better than Mississippi?
