Multiple mock drafts have him going in the 1st rd. I don’t see it.

NFL GMs have plenty of misses each year. He will be one of them.

He has the physical talent. That is what GMs look for.
Did you see Utah State's QB going in the first round a few years ago?

Falcons should take him.

He has talent and a very good athlete but he regressed badly throughout the season last year.

McCarthy will be the first QB taken in the draft- Harbaugh
quote:
“Arm talent, athleticism, ‘it’ factor, winning with numbing repetition. Don’t be surprised when he — if/when he goes to — he’s the No. 1 quarterback off the board. That’s my prediction right now. When people get a load of J.J., and how he can throw the ball, how he spins it, his athleticism, his intelligence. Talk about ‘it’ factor. He’s got it. The competitiveness that he has. And they get around him, and they really start digging in, and they start talking to him. Yeah, that’s an early prediction for the 2024 NFL draft.”

mccorkle is better than him and mccarthy is no better than Fromm either. it would be a wasted pick.

He just doesn't have much touch. Every ball is like a straight line. But, there is probably somebody who thinks they can make him Josh Allen or Jalen Hurts.

They need to take Daniels, Penix, or trade for Fields.

He is also a great leader.
NFL GM's love that.

I saw him throw a 95 mph fastball to his back like 3 feet away, it was beautiful

Quarterbacks are the most important position so NFL teams have to move them up the draft board and take a chance. You never know who will make it. Examples, Purdy, Brady, Prescott, Hurts, etc. You have to take a shot.
McCarthy has good size and comes from a top program at least.

McCarthy has top of the food chain mindset and lots of prototype NFL QB traits.
He will rise up a lot of draft charts simply based on them being scared away from Penix's medical and Caleb Williams baggage.
I could see New England taking him at 3 simply because he is so suited for cold and windy weather.

Penix's medicals maybe but he won't come close to Williams.

He threw the ball like 10 times a game when it got cold.
