I’m ignorant about Gaza. Why can’t refugees relocate to the west bank?

We hear that the Palestinians in Gaza have no where to go and its a bit of an open air prison. Egypt and others wont take them.
Ok fine, isnt there an entire other portion of palestine not controlled by Hamas?
Can someone explain why they cant be relocated there?

No one wants these people. Not even the Palestinians on the West Bank. They have been radicalized to the point that there is no hope for them.

I believe they tried that or some variation thereof, and it was open season for suicide bombings once that became the terrorists’ go-to move.

I was being a smart arse.
There aren’t any good solutions about this mess.
Whatever way it works out, I’m sure the common people on both sides will suffer and some elites will make out pretty well.

Then explain how Israel managed to sign peace treaties with Muslim countries like Egypt, Jordan, UAE, and was on the verge of peace with Saudis before Oct 7th attacks

Israel doesn’t want them in the West Bank, assuming these people would even go. Israel’s plan is to slowly annex all of these nominally Palestinian lands and expand their own borders. It’s easier if you can expel the people who live on them first.
