I removed the nests but my fake owls aren’t working. What’s the easiest way to get rid of them before I start target practice?

I have found that the helium filled shiny balloons, that we buy for kids parties, works well to keep birds away from my covered patio.

House sparrows are fair game. If they are your problem, just get a pellet gun or old red Ryder and have at it.

Make it fun for the kids. Offer .25 a sparrow or starling.

Just make sure its a House Sparrow.

Where were they building? Are you sure they are sparrows?

I once made this mistake. But I learned.

Sparrow- thick beak
Wren- long thin beak

Sparrow bad. Wren good.

I bet OP had wrens.

Murder them unapologetically and brutally to send a message to their kin. Take no prisoners.

If house sparrows are causing problems, you should be able to easily fix it. They are mostly cavity dwellers, so there is a hole somewhere they are going in. If it isn’t a hole, more than likely it isn’t a sparrow.

Get a repeating sparrow trap. I caught a dozen or so, and the rest moved on.
