Pretty sure you aren’t gonna get good, plump oysters May through August. Personally, I’d wait…

The Northeast (Canada down to Long Island) has the best. Sorry, Gulf Coast.

Having never eaten oysters outside of the Gulf Coast, I can't say I disagree, but it would take a good "taste test" to convince me your statement is true because I've had some great oysters from this region over the years.

Are you just trying to get a sack or a dozen from a restaurant?

If sack, Mandeville Seafood, Pat's Seafood, Original Lamas, Bateaus, B&Js if wanting to drive to Hammond.

At a restaurant maybe Pat's Rest Awhile, Mortons in Madisonville, Chimes Covington, Busters, Half shell oyster House

Have eaten raw oysters in St. Francisville, Monroe and Mobile within the last week. All were really good

I have had some great oysters form that region, but have had great gulf oysters also. The cold water oysters definitely have a cleaner taste, but gulf oysters have more flavor (probably from filtering more shite ).
