What are y'all thinking about Beryl? I don't know enough about these things. Been following the thread on the OT.

Plan on having a bunch of people at our camp on the West Fork this weekend.

Should be fine. Keep monitoring, plenty of time.

They still aren’t sure what the storm will do after crossing Yucatan peninsula. As of right now is projected to hit just south of Mexican border. If that’s stays I wouldn’t think SW louisianas sees anything other than rough seas offshore for a few days.

Wouldn’t mind a button hook about Monday and a few inches of rain and a 4-5 cooler, cloudy days. This heat is, well, hot af.

Tides will be higher than normal like the last one. Make sure you have someone checking your boat daily if it’s on a lift and tie it off to be safe. They picked mi w up three times one day in hackberry.

About the only topic worth following on there. At least some of those guys seem to know what they're talking about.

We are up by Holbrook. No boat lift, but usually leave boats in the water tied up when we're there.

lol I told my wife when I pulled out the yard two days before Katrina that I didn’t get to cut the grass and it was gonna be a pita when I got back.
15ft of salt water made it a non issue.

Shrimp start running in the marsh before a hurricane. Other than that, not much.

I think I need to name a bird dog Beryl. A big blockhead female.

Anyways. We're on the river now. Crazy low tide this am. Hopefully all good.

May try and catch some crabs.

It always amazes me how much those in the Keys /South Florida trust tying their boats up in the mangroves during storms. But, as an old boss used to say, sometimes you are left with nothing but the LSOs (least shitty options).

Stay safe, all!

I am amazed every newscast hasn't started with "Beryl is barreling it's way..."

Can’t ever get lucky enough to have these hit on the flat part of ride cycle it seems. How long did it take after Alberto for fishing to get back right?

IF we get the estimated rain 3”-4” forecasted it’s going to kill the trout fishing again. Remember, if oakdale-oberlin get same it will take a month to wash out. So tired of dealing with fresh water in the channel.

Not sure I’m going to head down early tomorrow, boats tied off so even if it floating she will be ok. No word if lodge has water in the office like the last storm.

Water was rising when I got to hackberry but wasn’t in the parking lot at lift. 2 hrs later it was creeping into parking lot at spicers, rolling in like a river when I left. Probably came up a foot and still rising.
