Onboard Chargers

My chargers on my last boat were precision chargers by Minn Kota and they were nice but big, heavy and expensive. My current boat had a mix of crappy charges and I was consolidating them. I need a 3 bank charger and I was wondering if anyone used a 5amp per bank charger and if they had any regrets. It would be cheaper and lighter. I am going to start docking my boat in my back yard next week so it will have plenty of charge time but I still reluctant to go with a 5 amp charger. Theoretically it would take 20 hours to charge my batteries, but I don't see them ever getting below 50% so I don't even know what I am worried about. Anyone use another brand for lithiums?
Oh, I bought an open box Ionic charger and it already lost two banks the first time I used it overnight, and it was just to top up my new batteries in our spare bedroom before installing them this week! Hopefully they make it right but I don't trust putting one in my boat. It was direct from ionic and they claimed it was tested to work by their techs before selling.

Dual Pro still makes an excellent onboard charger as well.

To answer your 5amp question. I’ve had 5amp Minn Kota 3 bank chargers in my last 3 boats and have no complaints. Never had a time where I plugged it in and the next morning/day they weren't charged. Maybe if you fish open water in strong winds morning and evening with a break in between I could see going 10amp. Otherwise, 5amp is plenty imo.
