Boutique owner reveals what happened when her landlord erected pro-Joe Biden sign

Monahan now keeps a gun in the store after receiving threats, and blames the banner on the upper floor of the building for a 50 per cent drop in sales.

I was in Atlanta a couple of weeks ago and they have Biden signs everywhere. They are in big billboards and on top of taxis.

It's not her building. I'd assume she just rents the retail space on the first floor. Upstairs is likely apartments.

With her hands.
And then she just needs to tell the landlord that if it doesn't stay down she's going to go out of business and be unable to pay rent. So he can either leave it down, let her out of her lease and let her move somewhere else, or she'll leave on her own and they can go to court.
The simplest and least expensive option for both of them would be for the sign to come down and stay down.
Don't assume that she has no case in court. Most leases have clauses that prevent the landlord from interfering with their tenant's business. If she's got evidence (social media posts, etc.) that show that the sign is indeed interfering, she might get a judgement. Especially if the city is as conservative as the article says.

Quite possibly his goal.
She has no legal right to destroy or remove the landlords property.

That's correct, but she may very well have a case to make him take it down.
Removing it reduces the damage that is occurring to her business while waiting for court.
Who knows...she might even be able to apply for and get an injunction pending the case.
