The last two olympics the US was outfitted by Adidas. They went with Lindeberg for this type of outlandish style and to stand out, for good or bad (just like Hovland).
I can't help but think that pressure from golfers with other sponsors didnt weight in as this bid process was developing. If you can't please everyone, then just please no-one.
