RIP, will miss his radio show. Seemed like a jovial guy.

My dad played with him in the original Trick Bag in the 70's. Almost joined him when he played with Blood Sweat and Tears. Told me some great stories. They played at the Blue Room one night and Steve Winwood showed up after his show and played with them on stage. BB King did as well. Luther had a soulful voice. Saw him and Dr. John one time at Monkey Hill. Was a fantastic show. RIP up there with my dad.

I first saw Luther when he was Duke Royal.we went to see him on the Bossier Strip. It was many years ago,
obviously.
I was a big fan of Cold Grits and Blackeyed Peas, with Luther, Duke Bardwell, Tubby Zeigler and Harold Cowart. Very funky and talented band.
obviously.

Noooooooo!!!!!! Not Big Luther! Dude was great, used to catch him at Papparazzi's back on the early 90's. It was always a great show.
Dude was crazy too. He and Lawrence Marino (Gino's brother) were more than a handful with a few drinks in them.
Great memories.....although honestly, I'm shocked he made it this long.

Almost all of the Louisiana blue eyed soul singers are now gone. Bobby Kimball is in bad health also.
