Just diagnosed today at the orthopedist. Will be doing PT and some NSAIDs. Anyone deal with this, have some advice for recovery?

1) Staying off it.
2) Internal rotations.
3) Put a roller on the ground and lay on top with it on your spinal cord. Keep elbows 90 degrees and really stretch it by doing this:

I did 2 a little bit, 3 a little bit, but 1 helped the most. Was full force after a few months. Best advice: if what you’re doing hurts, stop doing it. That includes PT

Did PT for years. It would get better but the pain would eventually return. I finally got a steroid shot from the doctor and the pain has disappeared for good. This was back in 2019. I feel very fortunate. That pain was awful.

Yeah he basically said we'll try the PT for 4-6 weeks with the NSAID and if that doesn't work, we'll move on to cortisone shots at that point.

I'm hoping I caught it early enough that it'll get knocked out with rest/conservative treatment.

Your'e right though this shite hurts. It aches like a motherfricker when it gets irritated.

Had a shot then eventual partial tear repair. 2 week recovery. Wasn’t bad.

I'm surprised the cortisone lasted. I f4cked around for almost two years with "workarounds" that always failed until I got my labrum repaired. Now that bitch is so bulletproof I have to stretch it before I squat to get my elbows where I need them.

I believe that most orthos don't really like surgery for some reason, so they'll keep playing you into avoiding surgery with band aids. I don't want to go under any more than necessary, but I also would have not like to have wasted over a year of my life trying to work around something.

I don't think there is anything worse than the MRI dye needle scraping way, way, deep into your shoulder. But, I would have been back training far earlier, had I done it sooner.

Rest is the only thing that's helped me. Mine is like a ticking time bomb, I know when I'm feeling pretty good it's only a matter of time. I avoid certain workouts that I know tend to aggravate it.

I have a partial tear in my RC. My doc gave me Pennsaid, a NSAID ointment and it knocks the inflammation out in a a week if I get a flare up. There is an OTC version called Voltaren but its 1/2 the strength of Pennsaid.
