Got an old browning belgium a5 with a ribbed vented barrel. Had an accident and bent it about 10 degrees toward the end 2/3 of the barrel. Can this be saved and who in Baton Rouge area is recommended?

Can’t find one like this. 26” vented rib Belgium made modified choke. There’s a 28” on eBay for $700 right now.

I had a friend give me an A300 with a bent barrel. Brought it to a gunsmith and he said he can make it look straight, but there’s no guarantee it’ll shoot straight. That’s all I got.

When I was a kid, I had my 870 pump on the front end of the 4 wheeler. I took a turn a little too sharp and clipped the edge of a shed, which bent the barrel.

It was straightened without issue. I still use it today. No issues with accuracy even today that aren't my own issues from aging eyes and reflexes.

Problem today as you identified is finding that trusted old gunsmith who can do good work at a reasonable price.

Good luck!

I would put it in a vice and straighten it.

Or straighten it with the vice. Lengthen and soften the jaws .

shot gun barrels are known to rapidly disassociate when unduly stressed. I was standing to the left of a fellow duck hunter when his barrel blew out to the right. I was lucky, if I had been on his right, a lot of facial reconstruction would have been required

It will never be able to be straightened properly. You will either have to cut it below the bend or buy a new barrel.
